51. Tyler Austin – RF – Yankees – Age: 21 – Level: AA – Austin Is a great ballplayer who I think will exceed expectations despite a lack of elite tools. Draws walks, hits for power, can swipe a bag due to outstanding instincts. Reminds me of Hunter Pence.
52. Robert Stephenson – RHP – Reds – Age: 20 – Level: A – Big arm with mid 90’s fastball and potential plus secondaries. Very inconsistent at the moment though and may end up a power reliever. Definite sleeper to watch for a breakout season that could put him in the Top 25 next year.
53. Austin Hedges – C – Padres – Age: 20 – Level: A+ A few years away but brings impressive upside as a gold glove caliber defender who can hit for modest average and some pop too. Could rank much higher on this list in a few years.

One of the few bright spots for the Astros right now
54. George Springer – CF – Astros – Age: 23 – Level: AA – Springer is an impressive athlete with 5 above average tools and plays with a lot of energy an enthusiasm. His penchant for strikeouts may hamper his ability to hit for even a respectable average but has enough power and speed to compensate. Reminds me of Josh Reddick.
55. Aaron Hicks – CF – Twins – Age: 23 – MADE MLB ROSTER – Hicks will be skipping AAA to replace Denard Span in CF. He’s actually quite similar to Span but with more power upside. Should have a nice career as solid everyday CF and could be in the mix for AL ROY.
56. Matt Barnes – RHP – Red Sox – Age: 22 – Level: AA – Springer’s former college teammate at UConn, Barnes has an above average 3 pitch mix, including a low to mid 90’s fastball. His improved control gives him a chance to develop into a solid #3 starter.
57. Kaleb Cowart – 3B – Angels – Age: 20 – Level: AA – Plays gold glove 3B defense which could make him a very valuable player who projects to hit around .270 with 20-25 HR.
58. Brian Goodwin – CF – Nationals – Age: 22 – Level: AA – The talent is there for him to become an all star CF who can hit 20 HR and steal 20 bases but the hit tool worries me. Would like to see him hit much better at AA this year before moving him into the Top 50 where other analysts have him.
59. Jedd Gyorko – 2B – Padres – Age: 24 – – MADE MLB ROSTER – All Dan Uggla fans out there, this guy could pass for his younger brother. Very similar profile as a power hitting, offense first 2B. Could be in mix for N.L. ROY.
60. Kyle Gibson – RHP – Twins – Age: 25 – Level: AAA – Coming off lost season due to TJ surgery, Gibson still flashes a mid 90’s sinker which he commands well. If he can stay healthy, he should make a nice #3 starter. Should see time with the Twins this year considering their patchwork rotation.

Graham about to dial up the heat in Harrisburg
61. J.R. Graham – RHP – Braves – Age: 23 – Level: AA – Love Graham. I think he’s underrated, not unlike Kris Medlen was, because he’s short. However, he’s got a wicked mid 90’s sinker/ slider combo. If he can improve his command I could see him as a Justin Masterson type. If not, he’s a likely setup reliever.
62. Jesse Biddle – LHP – Phillies – Age: 21 – Level: AA – The Philly native has a great chance of becoming a local success story. If he improves his secondaries, he has Jon Niese upside. More likely a solid #4 starter.
63. Michael Wacha – RHP – Cardinals – Age: 21 – Level: AAA – I read some promising reports on him that his fastball velocity is up into the mid 90’s. Already has the elite command, control, and pitch ability part down. A strong full season debut could vault him into the top 50 as a potential #2 starter.
64. Nolan Arenado – 3B – Rockies – Age: 22 – Level: AAA – Some people, looking at you Kieth Law, are really down on him, but I still think he becomes a solid everyday player for the Rockies. He lacks ideal power for 3B but he’s a big kid with a great batting eye. I think the power will come eventually 4-5 years from now.
65. Lucas Giolito – RHP – Nationals – Age: 18 – Level: A- A real wild card. Was considered the best arm in the 2012 high school class with a fastball that touched upper 90’s. But an elbow injury sidelined him so I’m going somewhat conservative on the grade until I see how he recovers.
66. Jake Odorizzi – RHP – Rays – Age: 23 – Level: AAA – I see Odorizzi as a solid #3/#4 starter. Lacks movement on his low to mid 90’s fastball which may give him HR troubles.
67. Adalberto Mondesi – SS – Royals – Age: 17 – level: A – Royals – Big time sleeper alert. This is Raul Mondesi’s kid. Only 17 but could be a top 10 prospect in a couple years with his drool worthy tools. UPDATE: Kid’s goin by Raul Jr. now. Awesome.
68. Trevor Story – SS – Rockies – Age: 20 – Level: A+ Underrated prospect who has potential to develop into an offensive minded SS or 3B.
69. Bubba Starling – CF – Royals – Age: 20 – Level: A – The athleticism is elite but I’m not sold on Starling just yet as a legitimate prospect. Tools alone are why he makes this list but I get a Drew Henson vibe with him. May return to football where he was formerly a 5 star recruit to play QB at Nebraska.

Not to be confused with the garbage the O’s used to trot out to the mound in ’09
70. Adam Eaton – CF – Diamondbacks – Age: 24 – MADE MLB ROSTER – BUT… is injured for the first half of the season. Shame, he was my frontrunner for N.L rookie of the year. Has a chance to be the Dustin Pedroia of CF’s (Only 5’8″ 185) but more likely a solid regular.
71. Leonys Martin – CF – Rangers – Age: 25 – MADE MLB ROSTER – Martin will be replacing Hamilton in CF for Texas. Should be a solid regular. How much power he develops will determine whether he’s an average regular or a borderline all star.
72. Max Fried – LHP – Padres – Age: 19 – Level: A – Others have him higher, but I’d like to see how he does in full season ball before jumping on the bandwagon. He has the potential for three above average pitches. Potential #2 starter.
73. Corey Seager – 3B – Dodgers – Age: 19 – Level: A – Kyle Seager’s younger brother. He actually has a similar upside to older bro, with a chance to be an all star in his prime. Long way away though.
74. Kyle Crick – RHP – Giants – Age: 20 – Level: A+ Crick has a big time arm and the potential to rocket up this list if he can make dramatic improvements in commanding his arsenal and lowering walks. Mid 90’s fastball and sharp slider give him #2 upside.
75. Jonathan Schoop – 2B – Orioles – Age: 21 – Level: AAA – As explained here, I think Schoop becomes a solid everyday player for many years. May take him a few tries to adjust to the bigs as I think the O’s have rushed him.
